We all want to look the part, but can we always afford it? Being a fashionista is a hard life to keep up with, especially when you can't afford it. Champagne taste, but can only afford lemonade looks. Some of your favorite fashionistas had humble beginnings started at the clearance rack until they were able to actually afford their lifestyle looks. The key to shopping for clothes is to get more for your money. When shopping, always give yourself a budget, once that budget limit is reached checkout immediately. Checking out immediately will not not tempt you to spend over your budget. The outfit in my photos totaled out to be under 30 dollars, not including the shoes. I always shop for less, because I'd rather spend one hundred dollars on ten items rather than two. There are ways to dress the part without going over budget. Here are 3 easy ways to be a baller on a budget.

Clearance Section

It's no shame in my game when it comes to shopping on a budget. Most people never shop clearance because of their preconceived thoughts of "those are the cheapest clothes," "only broke people shop on clearance," or " clearance never has a good selection of clothes to choose from." None of these sayings are true, this is the best way to shop. Especially because you can still get quality clothes for less. The way stores create their clearance sections is simply by gathering all the clothes from the season before and clothing items that didn't sell as well as excepted, sell them for a lower price. So why pay full price for an item when you can get it a discounted price? Shop smarter, not harder.

Specials & Discounts

All companies do deals and specials when holidays are approaching. This just doesn't include the major holidays such as Black Friday and Christmas, but also holidays such as 4th of July and Labor Day. So save your coins because it's at least one holiday a month, so you know it's guaranteed to be a deal going on those days. The reason special and deals are so important because you can save money on your favorite items, stores know that people won't shop consistently unless special deals are going on in their stores. Why pay full price when you know a sale is coming? There are so many coupons online, sometimes when I want an item and the store isn't offering any deals I will google the store's name and the word coupon. Also, to all my college students reading, there are websites like UNiDays, that offer college students discounts from your favorite stores.

Buy The Basics

This is the easiest way to ball out on a budget! Don't you ever get tired of buying an outfit for every event and party you attend? Buying the basics are important because they are able to be worn multiple ways and saves you money. Basics clothing items include black dress, white top, blue high waist jeans, and black pencil skirt. These are just a few of the items, most websites even have a section titled "Basics." Where you can find basic items you may not have in your closet and you'll see the prices are usual cheap. Buys basics helps save money because instead of needing to buy a completely new outfit, you can buy just a top or bottom instead.
